Blåskoghytta is located about 6 km southwest of Fillan center. The cabin belongs to Hitra sports club. It is open to all hikers who take the Blåskogstien path towards the Blåskogvatnet lake. In the fall, winter and spring, the cabin is open and offers simple food and beverages. Visit Hitra IL’s Facebook page for more information. In winter, ski tracks are prepared along the Blåskogstien path to the cabin. You can also cycle, walk or run.
You can spend the night in the cabin. Materaces are available for about 20 people. The cabin is equipped with a kitchen, gas and electricity from a generator. You can also use the rowing boat down at the lake, which is great for fishing. Contact Hitra Idrettslag (sports club) for renting the cabin. You can buy your fishing license on www.inatur.no or at the turist information at the Coastal Museum in Fillan.
Torvhatten is a resting place located 1,5 km west of Fillan along the Blåskogstien path. It can be reached on foot or by bicycle from Fillan center. The path forks by Torvhatten. You can either go through the forest to Blåskoghytta or take a shorter way back to Fillan center. There is also a cabin there called Torvhattstua that is open at some weekends. Steinfjellet is located about 6 km southwest of Fillan center and about 1 km northeast of the Blåskog cabin. The mountain is a 163 m high marked ridge visible from the Blåskogveien path towards the Blåskog cabin. It is easiest to climb the mountain from the northeast side, along the hills from the Steinfjelldalen valley. You can also climb it on the west side but it is steeper there.
